MILL HOUSE CAFÉ AT GIBSON’S KINGSLEY MILL
What it’s like?
The café at Gibson’s Kingsley Mill used to be a tack room but the owners have now had it tastefully redecorated and transformed to a lovely dog-friendly café. As well as the usual tables and chairs there are sofas and places for your human to relax whilst you take in the entertainment (people-watching and sniffing lovely food smells).
What can your human eat there?
Mummy says there is a nice variety of good wholesome café food with daily specials, such as a trio of pate. The lasagne is recommended as are the substantial all day breakfasts. For those of you watching waistlines there are salads and lighter lunches (although we can, of course, always be called on to give you a hand with any food you can’t manage which is what dog-friendly dining really means).
My Mummy says that it’s also a great place for a coffee and a sweet treat with lots of choices of cake and Daresbury Farm ice cream too.
Why I chose it
We dogs really are very welcome here. We can ask our humans to accompany us into the café and we can take a prime spot underneath the table. We’re ready to take advantage of tasty morsels that inevitably fall as they sit and chat and the slate floor is comfortable and practical (for those little paw prints that occasionally happen when I explore wet places). We’re made welcome, not just tolerated, made really welcome.
Just outside is a lovely grassy area where your human can sit if it’s warm enough whilst you sunbathe and watch (but not touch) the birds. Apparently the birds are not as dog-friendly as the café.
Your human can also visit Gibson’s Kingsley Mill which sells dog food, toys and things to wear so your human can get you a treat.
